Harvest Festival – Pt 1

Its Harvest Festival again in the Bickley-Carmel Valley. This year the weekend was unseasonably warm, not a drop of rain in sight, the sun was shining and the colours glorious.

We’re spoilt for choice up here in our own backyard. 11 wineries and 2 cideries. Our Saturday lunch of choice was at the beautiful La Fattoria, where we sat on the veranda enjoying the glorious view, the beautiful food, and the stellar wine (Vermentino and Barbera come at me), while the big kid made friends with the resident dogs and the little kid made friends with the resident machinery.

It may still be warm for this late in Autumn but the evenings are turing cool and the trees have certainly decided to turn on their seasonal display of colour. I just adore the light and the colour at this time of the year in the hills.
