Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Favourites

It’s time for another Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop! Yay!

When you have a passion there’s nothing quite like finding a group of like minded people to share that passion with. Our team of Stampin Up!® demonstrators is nothing short of awesome. We’ve all been brought together by the supremely awesome Kelly Kent, from who’s blog you’ve quite possibly hopped on over from. Kelly is not only a very talented designer but she’s also endlessly generous with her time and knowledge and just an all round super lovely person in every way (and I’ve known her for about 20 years!). Under her leadership our team has really gelled this year and I’m confident in saying I have a whole group of stamping buddies who are a big part of my life now.

Most of our team is centred around the Bunbury area in the south west of WA but I actually live in “the big city”. So it was a great pleasure for me to host a group of intrepid stampers who came on a road trip to my hills home last week for our team meeting. Because this was more of a day out that the usual meeting format Kelly had the fantastic idea that we all come up with a “shoebox swap” where we pre-prepared a project that we could all make during the meeting. The idea is that your box contains everything you need to make the card you have designed and prepared.

This was sooo much fun, although I tend to be a slow crafter so the pressure of getting it all done in 15 minutes was a bit stressful!

But at the end of it we all had a lovely pile of 8 beautiful cards.

Knowing we also had this team blog hop coming up I prepared a card with the theme “favourites” in mind. Pick a favourite? Just one? Ummm, can I say everything?? There’s so much to love in the current Stampin Up! range that it is impossible to pick any one favourite thing. So I’m going with a few favourites from the holiday catalogue.

First of all, my favourite DSP might just be Christmas Around The World. Partly because I am a total sucker for tartan, but also these nutcrackers and all the other gorgeous elements in the very patterned papers in this series are just too cute to resist.

The second “favourite” element is the layout of this card, which is CASED (“copy and share everything”) from Brian King’s fabulous design you can see here. I love it when you have a great layout that you can use with different colours and papers and make a whole range of cards. I’ve been going a little crazy this week making cards to this recipe, because it also uses my third favourite thing from the holiday catty which is the Everyday Label punch and co-ordinating stamp sets Merry Little Labels and Labels To Love. I just love this cute label and how quick and easy it is to make a fabulous label or element for a card. I can’t wait to use the “Special delivery from the North Pole” stamp on the kids’ Christmas parcels!

See what I mean about how easy it is to whip up a range of cards when you have a great layout and such a versatile bundle as I am finding the merry labels to be?

Such fun! Maybe my favourite thing is actually having a lovely pile of pretty cards on the craft table at the end of the day??

There’s so much more Paper Adventures inspiration to be had, so please hop along to Coriana next. Somehow she’s managed to find time away from her beautiful little baby girl to make something amazing to share with you.

It’s fabulous how useful one stamp set or thinlit set can be when it comes to creating some thing unique or for a particular occasion. Looking at your creations it great to see that you can use a variety of different DSP, stamp sets and cardstock but keep the original design (or get a little bit quirky with it.) it looks like the crafting day was a hit for everyone.
