Hello paper addicts! I’m so pleased to have you here, especially if you’ve hopped along from Marian and the other demos in this blog hop. We are so lucky to have such a great bunch of talented demos here out West.
Let me ask you, crafty people – how good does a whole day spent crafting with friends, making up 12 gorgeous cards to take home, with a generous supply of cake, chocolate, and hot tea sound to you? Well to me that sounds pretty dang awesome, which is why I jumped off the couch with a resounding “yes please!” when I read the Facebook invitation from Kelly Kent and Nicole Wilson to do just that.
There is nothing quite like being able to get together with people who share your passion. Our Paper Adventures team does manage to get together fairly often, but of course, it’s never enough, and we are a little spread out, geographically. So this Demo Retreat Day that Kelly and Nicole organised was a fabulous opportunity to spend the day crafting with friends new and old.
We’ve followed the Make and Take box format at a few team meetings and it’s a great way of knocking out some projects quickly, and you always get such a great variety of projects as well. I loved that on the day of our retreat it was organised so that you weren’t necessarily doing the same projects as the people sitting around you, so you got to see a big variety of projects as well. For my Make & Take I wanted something simple and fun that would be easy enough to get done in the 20 minutes we had with each box.
I do love an organised Make & Take box, with everything ready to go! My box included the three stamps already mounted on blocks, ink (Archival Grey, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Memento black), Stampin’ Blends, dies, and a chamois for cleaning the stamps afterwards.
The stamps I chose for this project were that gorgeous unicorn from Magical Day plus one of the little decorative elements (the small stars) and this fun sentiment from Bird Banter. The card base and mat layer were in Whisper White and the pink square (die cut with the Stitched Shapes) is Flirty Flamingo.
A little stamping, a little colouring, a little cutting and a bit of sticking and this is what you get!
A nice simple, clean card with a little bit of a cheeky element.
Keep on hopping to see some more gorgeous projects, next up being the fabulous Richelle.
Thanks for stopping by!
