ESAD 2018 Annual Catalogue Launch

Welcome to stop number 22 on this month’s ESAD blog hop. Is your brain (and Pinterest board) just exploding with all the amazing inspiration? There’s nothing quite like having a whole new catalogue of products and projects to get your creative juices flowing.

I’m thrilled (and a little nervous) to be joining in my first ESAD blog hop, a group of talented and creative Stamping Up! demonstrators I have long admired.

Although Stampin Up’s 2018-2019 Catalogue only went live on the 1st of June, we demos have been enjoying the significant perk of having had access to the catalogue and a selection of new products for up to two months now, since our biannual On Stage even at the start of April. With any new catalogue one of the first things I turn to, and one of the things I most want to get my hands on, are the new Designer Series Paper (DSP) collections. This year we have been able to get the absolutely gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty DSP in pre-order. You’ve probably seen a fair bit of it around already in sneak-peeks because it is just divine. It looks pretty enough in the catalogue but in person, it is absolutely gorgeous – beautiful colours and patterns, heavyweight paper that just screams quality and luxury, and a pearlised finish on some of the designs.

I’ve been merrily chopping my way through my pack creating all manner of fun and delightful things. I can’t bear to waste even a small piece of this beautiful paper, which is what led to me making these simple and pretty cards.

I’ve paired a small panel of gorgeous DSP with two coordinating coloured butterflies cut with the new Springtime Impressions framelits. I adore this butterfly, it’s going to be getting a lot of use in my craft room.

These papers feature some new and returning colours from the colour refresh in this catalogue.

Returning old favourite Mint Macaroon features in this paper, paired with a Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide butterfly, and Tranquil Tide ink.

There are three beautiful pink-purples in this card; Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.

The beautiful new In Color Grapefruit Grove is paired here with Basic Black.

And for this one I’ve paired two new pinks from opposite ends of the spectrum, Petal Pink and Lovely Lipstick.

When I first saw this DSP there was one pattern that stuck out in particular to me as it reminded me of one of my favourite handbags. So I have had it in my head ever since to try and make a paper version of the bag.

Remember how I said this is a heavyweight DSP? It makes it absolutely perfect for 3D projects like this. It is so crisp and holds its shape so well. I had such fun recreating my bag.

It even makes a great little card holder!

 

I had such fun with these projects and I just know that paper is going to get a heap more use this year – especially after all the lovely inspiration that’s coming out now with the new catalogue, like in this blog hop!
