Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – CAS

This month’s theme – Clean and Simple, or “CAS” – is right up my card making alley.  I love a simple card. I admire other people’s skill in making cards that are so layered and beautiful but it’s not something I’m terribly good at. So the CAS style is for me!

My card for today’s hop was quick and easy to make and features just two colours, Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape, and two stamps.

I used my Aqua Painter to pick up some Gorgeous Grape ink and create a washed background on some watercolour paper.  Then I stamped my favourite Happy Birthday sentiment from Perennial Birthday.

This gorgeous little fairy is from one of my go-to stamp sets for girls’ birthday cards, Fairy Celebration. She’s so easy to stamp and colour in, in this case with blends. It’s a great set and if you make kids’ cards and don’t already own this one then you really should add it to your arsenal. It’s also a fun one if you enjoy colouring.

Finally, I attached the watercolour paper front to a mat of Gorgeous Grape and then mounted the two on a base of Whisper White using dimensionals. This gives even a simple card that little extra interest and a lovely subtle shadow line around the edge.

So there you go, a quick and easy CAS card! I’ll be making a few more like this as my birthday card stash needs some replenishing – it seems I’ve been on a baby card kick lately!

If you’d like more inspiration for clean and simple cards then make sure you hope right along through our Paper Adventures team hop this month because there are some fabulous ideas. Next up is the always creative Narelle. I’m sure I’ll be CASE-ing all these CASes!!
